AMBASSADORS

Two of our members were honoured and privileged to be Ambassadors providing training tips and resources leading up to and on the day of the event.

Juanita Anable

A new member to our SCA team who after many years of hiking came across Stair Climbing Australia and “met so many great people” A mother of 4, who is a educational leader at a childcare centre and is a picture of health who devotes her spare time to Park-runs, hitting the gym daily and now a addicted stair climber after completing her 1st stair climb at the Q1 earlier this year.

Hope to see you at any more events in the foreseeable future and welcome to the stair climbing crew.

Amber Nina Thompson

Amber is also a Mum of 4 and has been an Ambassador for 2 years and continues to inspire with her training regime. During the lead up to the day, we looked forward to her videos on “Tip Tuesday” incorporating with runs to 1st platform/repeat, safety of running 2 x steps at a time, use of handrails to support legs and go up faster. Amber inspires others with weekly stair climbing meetings and even in the hot weather of QLD you may pass her on the stairs training in her weighted vest!

Foremost, we congratulate you on 3rd place with an outstanding time of 8:26 and thank you for all your dedication to our sport.

Organisers

These events would not be possible without the input of so many behind the scenes. We would like to say a huge thank you to Heidi Taue (Fundraising and Events Officer) and all her crew at Women’s Legal Service and large contingent of sponsors who made this event so worthwhile. We were very grateful to offer our support to the running and organisation of this annual event.

We thank our members for all your dedication, training, raising monies and helping our young growing sport of stair climbing.

THANK YOU from all of us at the Stair Climbing Association.
